A Warm Welcome in Petersburg: BLEACHTECH Celebrates Community, Partnership, and a Bright Future

BLEACHTECH recently hosted an evening at Hotel Petersburg to celebrate its growing roots in the City of Petersburg and highlight the strong partnerships being built since its acquisition by ANSA McAL in November 2024.

Hosted by Executive Chairman Mr. A. Norman Sabga and Group CEO Mr. Anthony N. Sabga III, the reception brought together a dynamic mix of local and regional leaders, all united by a shared vision for economic growth and community development in Central Virginia.

Key figures in attendance included State Senator Lashrecse Aird (VA-13), Cole Kawugule representing U.S. Senator Mark Warner, Mayor Sam Parham of Petersburg, Brett Vassey of the Virginia Manufacturers’ Association, Becky McDonough of the Hopewell/Prince George Chamber of Commerce, and several other civic champions. Their presence underscored the strong, collaborative spirit between BLEACHTECH and the region.

“We’re proud to be celebrating with the people of Petersburg,” said Mr. A. Norman Sabga. “This is more than a business milestone—it’s a meaningful partnership. We’re committed to supporting the city’s growth, its people, and its future.”

BLEACHTECH operates a key chlor-alkali plant in Petersburg—along with its sister plant in Seville, Ohio—producing essential chemicals like sodium hypochlorite (bleach), caustic soda, and hydrochloric acid. Since the acquisition, the company has made significant strides in enhancing efficiency, expanding its market reach, and investing in facility improvements and local talent.

Mayor Parham welcomed the company’s presence, calling the acquisition a historic investment in Petersburg’s future.

“This signals real confidence in our city,” he said. “From job creation to upgraded facilities and sustainable business practices, we are already seeing the benefits of this partnership.”

Echoing the sentiment, Group CEO Anthony N. Sabga III noted, “This community is now part of the ANSA McAL family. We’re not just here to operate—we’re here to grow, contribute, and support the people who make it all possible.”

The evening was a celebration of progress, partnership, and promise, marking just the beginning of a deeper connection between BLEACHTECH and the people of Petersburg.
