This year’s conference placed a strong focus on the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management, with sessions addressing smarter approaches to compliance, pollution control, recycling, climate change impacts, and regulatory changes affecting Virginia industries.
Workplace safety was another key area of discussion, highlighting injury and fatality prevention, stronger safety procedures, and updated standards for hazard communication and chemical labeling. The Department of Labor and Industry also underscored the importance of addressing heat exposure, presenting data that reinforced the urgent need for proactive safety measures.
